Note on payments. Swinch offers are currently claimed free of charge, and we do not operate a checkout. Where no payment is taken, no payment details are collected. The payment-related provisions in this policy apply where a paid feature is made available to you.

  • Business Partners: Merchants and advertisers offering deals and promotions. When you claim a coupon, the issuing merchant receives the information needed to validate and redeem it.
  • Legal Authorities: When required by law or to protect our legal rights.
  • Affiliates: Within our corporate family for business operations.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, no transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we encourage users to take necessary precautions.

6. Data Retention

We keep personal data only as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as long as the law requires. Our retention periods are:

  • Account data (name, email, phone, profile): for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymise this data within 30 days.
  • Coupons and redemption history: 24 months after the coupon expires or is redeemed.
  • Location data: used to serve nearby results and retained for 12 months; precise location is never stored longer than needed to answer your request.
  • Usage and analytics data: 14 months, after which it is aggregated so it no longer identifies you.
  • Server and security logs (including IP address and timestamps): 90 days.
  • Accounting and transaction records: retained for 10 years where Swiss law requires it (Swiss Code of Obligations, art. 958f).

Where we are required to keep data for legal, accounting or dispute-resolution reasons, we retain it for that period even after you delete your account, and we restrict its use to that purpose.

  • Disable location tracking through device settings.
  • Request data access, correction, or deletion by contacting us.

We respond to requests within 30 days.

9. AI Assistants and Connectors

Swinch publishes a connector that lets AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude search our public catalogue on your behalf.

  • The connector is read-only. It can search businesses, attractions and offers. It cannot create, change or delete anything.
  • It requires no account and no sign-in, and it cannot reach a Swinch account, its coupons, or its order history.
  • It returns only information already public on Swinch — the same listings you can see on our website without logging in.
  • We do not send your personal data to the assistant provider. The assistant sends us a search request, such as a city name or a place, and we return public catalogue results.
  • Requests reach our servers like any other web request, so our standard server logs apply, with the retention described in section 6.

Your conversation with the AI assistant itself is governed by that provider's own privacy policy, not ours.

10. Children's Privacy

Swinch is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If we learn of such data collection, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted here with an updated effective date.
